Global technology and innovation consultancy Isle Utilities is growing its team and has appointed Matthew Stephenson as European director. Stephenson joined on 1 October and brings over 20 years’ experience in the water sector, most recently as director of Suez Advanced Solutions UK and previously at Bristol Water, a utility in south-west England.

Isle is supporting the efforts of the Inter-American Development Bank to create the right framework for innovation in the water sector in Latin America. As part of this effort, a TAG innovation workshop will be organized during the conference IWA-IDB Innovation Conference on Sustainable Use of Water: Cities, Industry and Agriculture, happening on September 30-October 3 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The workshop will provide selected technology companies with the opportunity to present their products and create the opportunity to interact with Latin America’s leading water utilities.

Isle was commissioned by Waterschap Vallei en Veluwe (Netherlands) to undertake a feasibility assessment study to determine the planning and construction of a small scale sewage sludge mono-incineration plant. Several relevant mono-incineration operators and suppliers in Europe were interviewed and a horizon scan with phosphorus recovery technologies was issued to give Vallei en Veluwe an overview over the latest developments and technologies worldwide.

The EJWP offers young professionals a unique opportunity to learn essential skills, for example teamwork and collaboration skills.
