Graduate Technology Consultant

We are currently recruiting for a Technology Consultant to join our South African team. The role will support the delivery of projects primarily in  South Africa, the UK and Europe.

The position available is for a science or engineering graduate with an interest in water, wastewater and energy. The ideal candidate will be looking to start their career and gain invaluable experience within an international consultancy focusing on innovation.

Typical activities may include / Principal accountabilities:

  • Identifying and speaking with innovative technology companies
  • Undertaking technical due diligence
  • Drafting case studies of technology adoption and/or client projects
  • Working with senior colleagues to understand the innovation needs of our clients (for example, water companies, contractors and industrial sector organisations)
  • Researching and summarising current topics of interest to our clients. In the past this has included smart networks, chemical free treatment, emerging contaminants and resource recovery.
  • Supporting the delivery of the Industrial Technical Approval Group (iTAG) and
    Technical Working Groups

As a Graduate Technology Consultant, there is the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects so flexibility, curiosity and a growth mindset is essential.

This is a permanent position (after probation) and offers the successful candidate long-term and international opportunities, with the chance to move between business units and our global offices. You will be based in South Africa. However, as a result of our strong digital capability and cloud-based systems, you will work flexibly from home.

Requirements

  • Bachelors level technical or scientific degree
  • Masters degree in Environmental sciences/engineering or other science field with a relevance to water/wastewater/energy is an advantage
  • Understanding of water and/or wastewater processes
  • Appreciation of global challenges related to water/wastewater/energy
  • Data and technical analysis experience
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Other languages will be considered an asset
