Rui is an Environmental Scientist and Engineer, working for 20 years in technology development and implementation, with hands-on experience in business development. He has developed his expertise in water and environmental technology and biotechnology, renewable energies, and sustainability, with experience in R&D, industry and product development.

Previously to joining Isle, Rui worked in innovation funding consulting, R&D and technology development and creating several innovative projects, including founding a water tech startup and raising venture capital. Rui has worked with stakeholders from several world geographies and implemented water projects in European and African markets.

Rui is also engaged in bringing new paradigms into the field, such as data science and artificial intelligence, industry 4.0, and Smart Systems integration.
