Technology Consultant

We are currently recruiting for a Technology Consultant to join our South African team. The role will support the delivery of consulting projects,  research and innovation primarily in South Africa, other developing markets, and Europe.

We are seeking a passionate, experienced and self-motivated individual to join Isle’s team as a Technology Consultant. The position available is preferably for a professional with a postgraduate qualification in science/engineering with previous experience in the water utility, environmental and industrial sectors. Direct focus on resource efficiencies, infrastructure and climate resilience will be advantageous. The ideal candidate will be looking to expand your exposure and experience within a global consultancy focusing on the growing technology and innovation in the cleantech sector.

From day one you will be part of a team supporting our consultants in delivering a diverse range of projects. To be successful in the role you will have strong technical/scientific capabilities and be particularly proficient in undertaking research, writing, and presenting for an external audience.
As part of the team, you will find support and mentoring from within the team. You will manage your time across several projects, contributing to key phases in the road of commercialisation of iinnovative solutions such as market research, competitor analysis, feasibilities, business planning
etc.

This is a permanent position (after probation) and offers the successful candidate long-term and international opportunities, with the chance to move between business units and our global offices. You will be based in South Africa. However, as a result of our strong digital capability and cloud-based systems, you will work flexibly from home.

Requirements

  • Masters level degree in environmental sciences/engineering or other science field with a
    relevance to water
  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience working in consulting, R&D, water utilities, relevant
    industries and/or technology providers
  • Excellent knowledge of water and/or wastewater processes and solutions
  • Fair understanding of water governance in South Africa
  • Good understanding of global challenges related to water/wastewater/carbon/circular economy
    and the direct implications for water utilities and relevant industries
  • Dedicated, diligent with a curious and creative mindset – never afraid to ask questions or challenge
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, along with the ability to maintain a high quality of
    reports and presentations
  • An organised and methodological approach to planning and delivering work of a high quality
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • High self-motivation, can-do attitude, optimistic outlook
  • The right to work in South Africa
  • Other languages will be considered an asset

  • Salary range: R 650 000 per annum depending on experience
