Isle is proud to announce one of our technology consultants Alisha Syal has been selected for the Institute of Water’s prestigious Rising Stars programme.
Syal, 25, is a chemical engineering graduate from the University of Surrey. She has been with Isle since 2019. After joining as a graduate technology consultant in 2019, she was promoted to a technology consultant in July 2021.
The Rising Stars scheme takes eight young professionals from the sector on a year-long skills development programme. Syal was encouraged to apply for the programme by Stuart Moss, managing director of Isle, Europe.
“I am thrilled to have been selected for the Rising Stars programme. The opportunity to work with a diverse range of people across the sector will help further broaden my knowledge of the water industry and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges it faces,” explained Syal.
“In my job I work on consultancy projects across both the UK and South Africa and I am keen to bring this global perspective into the Rising Stars programme, as well as feedback all the new learnings and experiences I encounter on the programme to Isle,” she added.
The Institute of Water is dedicated to supporting the careers of people working in the UK water utility sector and the Rising Stars programme is a key feature of its ongoing work to nurture rising talent in the water sector. Through an application process each year IoW choose eight Institute of Water members who have shown both the potential and an appetite to progress within the water industry.
“This is a wonderful achievement for Alisha, it is not only recognition of what she has achieved already, but – perhaps more importantly – it is recognition of her potential to contribute even more in the years to come,” said Dr Piers Clark, Isle founder and chairman.
Rising Stars brings is designed to develop the skills and professional excellence of new industry talent and particularly focuses on providing professional development.
