Isle, Metro Pacific Water (MPW) and Maynilad Water Academy (MWA) has just recently delivered two workshops on building the innovation capability in the Philippine water market – the Group Innovation Alliance and Confluence. The partnership between these three companies was kick-started in 2014, with an ambitious vision: to create value through innovation, which will cover qualifying and quantifying business cases for new technologies specifically in the Philippine context. While the Philippine water sector is experiencing a significant injection in private capital, there still exists a gap in the industry’s ability to deliver clean and safe water and wastewater services. An innovation program has been in place for the last 4 years to help the industry direct investments into the right areas. EventLab, one of the first technologies to be presented, completed the trials and is now positioning for more sales. Technology trials are currently in operation with R-TAP and Rezatec, and both projects are progressing well and delivering positive results. The next milestone is the delivery of a technology adoption program in 2018-2019 to complement the outcomes from the GIA and Confluence workshops.
