Calling all innovators! The OFWAT Water Discovery Challenge opens today in the UK
Ofwat, in partnership with Challenge Works, Arup and Isle Utilities is launching the £4 million Water Discovery Challenge on 25 January to accelerate the discovery, development and adoption of promising innovations by the water sector in England and Wales. May of the challenges the sector is facing are not sector-specific. From preventing pollution to improving efficiency; reducing emissions to improving resilience; finding sustainable business approaches to supporting customers – we are looking for bold and innovative entrants from any sector, organisation or individual. Drawing on knowledge and ingenuity from other sectors, the #WaterDiscoveryChallenge will award up to 20 finalists £50,000 to develop their ideas. Up to 10 will go on to win £450,000 to turn ideas into pilots. Don´t typically work in the water sector? The award includes collaboration opportunities with water companies, which will be an exciting chance to understand a new sector.
