About the event
This event is the first in a three-part Resilience TAG Program Series that is being facilitated by Isle Utilities and the American Water Works Association (AWWA). The workshop series will consist of two program components: the Certificate program, which will provide a foundation in the sound risk and resilience management strategies that facilitate compliance with AWIA, and the technology component, which will feature independently vetted and curated solutions for each workshop theme.
Workshop 1 will focus on All-Hazards Emergency Response. It provides an overview of emergency preparedness, response planning, and security practices, within the framework outlined in ANSI/AWWA G440 Emergency Preparedness Practices, M19 Emergency Planning for Water and Wastewater Utilities, and G430 Security Practices for Operation and Management. This course will equip water and wastewater utilities to apply the content of these standards along with other current industry best practices, to develop an emergency preparedness program, as well as an Emergency Response Plan (ERP), that improves resiliency while reducing risk, assisting utilities in meeting the AWIA requirement for water systems to develop an emergency plan. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to undertake the hands-on development of an ERP for their utility or effectively manage that development by an outside party.
