About the event

Smart Water Program brings China a step closer to Environmental Water Sustainability

China continues to invest to protect the environment and improve quality of water, air and soil. The total investment will reach € 2.15 trillion, a significant growth (20%), in the next five years according to the Chinese Government’s estimate. Waste water treatment, waste management and air pollution control are the biggest 3 sub-sectors by market value, which together will take about 40% of the total investment in the environment sector (€ 837.5 billion by the end of 2020). China has also tightened the standards in water treatment, sewage discharge and emissions. Advanced and suitable technologies and solutions are in urgent demand to increase the capacity and professionalism of environmental management in municipality and industries. Private capital is welcomed and new business model and innovation is encouraged (source: www.xinhuanet.com).

To address these issues Isle Utilities, Imagine H2O and PureTerra Ventures will launch the Smart Water program in China in 2018. Emerging water technology businesses with a commitment to the China market will benefit from mentorship, customer and investor introductions and exclusive market visibility at the Imagine H2O Smart Water Hub at Aquatech China (part of WieTec 2018), the world’s largest water tradeshow.

Together with program partners ImagineH2O and PureTerra Ventures an exciting ‘Smart and Innovative’ program will be organized at the Smart Water Hub Theatre. Each morning we start with a Smart Water Forum, showcasing Industrial and Municipal Challenges in the Chinese (waste) water market and business cases and best practices will be presented from different stakeholder’s perspective. The cases will demonstrate how the latest innovations adapted in the Chinese market contribute to bring China a step closer to Environmental Water Sustainability. The different stakeholders will close the forum sessions with an interactive panel discussion. Every day there will be two hours of Dragon Den style Smart Water pitch sessions to showcase the latest Global Innovations suitable for the Chinese Water Market.
